Kupferradierung von Wenzel Holler (1607-1677)

Wenzel Holler machte auf seinem Weg nach London in Frankfurt am Main Station. Zwei Jahre lang ging er bei Matthäus Merian in die Lehre (1627-29) und fertigte während dieser Zeit auch eine Serie von Stadtansichten an, die Merian 1645 in Frankfurt am Main in kleiner Zahl publizierte. Diese Ansichten sind sehr selten und fehlen den meisten Sammlern und öffentlichen Sammlungen.

Zustandsbeschreibung: Das Blatt hat leichte generelle und angenehme Alterspatina. Oben rechts, ausserhalb der Darstellung die Nr. 167 in Tintenschrift.  Links oben inkomplette Wappenkartusche. Insgesamt nahe sehr guter Erhaltungszustand, besonders in Anbetracht des  ehrwürdigen Alters.
