Architectural Prints by D'Aviler These decorative and historical architecture prints by Charles Augustin D'Aviler (1653-1700) are from the work "Cours complet d'architecture" published in several editions. This edition is from ca 1715. D'Aviler was born in Paris and studied from 1676-1681 in Rome. He was a follower of the work of the great Italian architect Vignola and wrote a well-known commentary about Vignola's works. The following prints show interesting architectural details from the inside of well-known buildings. Notice some of the details showing the roof construction of the time. Included are also the layouts for the surrounding gardens. Wrought-iron balconies and locks are shown as well as doors and stairways in wood. Page size (except for last 4 prints) : 29.8 x 21.3 cm ( 11.7 x 8.4 "). Prints have overall toning and light browning on margin edges. Light creasing along center folds.
