Louis XVI Copper etchings by Jean Charles De la Fosse (1734 - 1789), and others (Berthault, Daumont, Foin, Joly, Tardieu and Mademoiselle Thouvenin). De la Fosse war architect, ornamental designer and engraver. He published 3 important sets of engravings: 1. "Nouvelle Iconologie Historique ou Attributs Hiéroglyphiques". 2. "Décorations, Sculptures, Orfévreries et Ornements divers". 3. "Ameublement". The following copper etchings were published under the title "Ameublement" in Paris in 1771. His work is judged to be "one of the most interesting examples of depicting the furniture style of Louis XVI" (Bouilhet). Some prints have two small holes in far left margin or at the top edge from binding depending on if they are vertical or horizontal images. A few minimal signs of age and use. Unless otherwise mentioned, all prints are in Very Good condition with wide margins. The coloring is recent unless otherwise mentioned.
