Just ten kilometers west from the center of the City of Paris there is Chateau St. Cloud with its ample formal Renaissance gardens, essentially designed and built by formidable garden architect Tomaso Francini (1571-1651). Closely located as it was to the capital of France it was used for many royal festivities. The chateau was destroyed during the Prussian-French War 1870/71. In 1891 the ruin was war-destroyed chateau was demolished. Nowadays the Park of St. Cloud is a much enjoyed recreational park for Parisians and visitors from all over the world, and the City of St. Cloud is one of the poshest addresses for the Parisian Haute Volee (High Society).

Die Versammlung der Generalstände des Jahres 1789, Klerus, Adel, Dritter Stand (Bürgertum) war die erste seit 175 Jahren. Der Verlauf der Versammlung machte dem Bürgertum klar, dass es die erhoffte Mitbestimmung an hoheitlichen Entscheidungen nicht geben werde. Es war das Ende der "Generalversammlung" und die Konstituierung der "Nationalversammlung", woraus unmittelbar der Beginn der französischen Revolution folgte.

Eine wichtige Dokumentation, deren Anlass der Auftakt zur Französischen Revolution war.

Linke, obere und rechte Margen schmal. Leichte Alterspuren. Ein wenig knittrig im Bereich des Titels und der unteren Marge.
